This Holy Season, FORGIVE

It's Christmas, let us rejoice in the birth of our Savior! What better time to decide to Forgive and Let Go?

I talk about this a LOT. It's easier to do sometimes more than others. But, holding on to anger and resentment is so exhausting! I want you to free yourself of this burden.

This does not mean you give up or give in. It means you let go of the need to control someone else, to “fix” situations that you can’t possibly fix. It means you forgive the someone who brought bitterness into your life.

It means you turn the burden over to God; you allow Him to right the wrong, it's not your job.

Set healthy boundaries and realize that you can’t be in contact with a dangerous or toxic individual, but you don’t ever have to stop loving or praying for that person.

The beautiful thing is, forgiveness and the act of letting go isn’t about that other person at all. It’s about YOU. It’s about accepting that something bad happened, learning from the experience, and moving on to a more loving, brighter future.

Use the negative things that have happened to you to make you stronger. Remember the old saying, “No pain, no gain.” We learn through adversity. Realize that the pain that people or circumstances have caused you do NOT define you. You get to decide who and what you are.

Life is too short to live with useless burdens; use your energies to live the life you have dreamed and imagined.

"We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.
But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared,
he saved us, not because of righteous things
we had done, but because of his mercy."

Titus 3:3-7

This holy season, forgive those who have wronged you. Toss the baggage. Let go of the need to have things perfect and to fix others messes. Let go of frustrations, expectations and hurt. Instead, live life fully and enjoy the beauty and the magic of the holiday season!

I wish you the merriest of Christmas! I hope you all were able to stay off the NAUGHTY list!
Much love,
