Music is a magical mood maker and now, more than ever, we can use a little magic in our lives!
When I run across music I think will help to transport you from a down moment to a more uplifted place, I like to share it! Here’s four I encourage you to add to your summer play list, to bring some hope and happy to the sunny days stretched out before us!
Barry Manilow | “When The Good Times Come Again”
Barry Manilow’s music has seen us through many a joyous and trying time. He’s an artist I’ve loved for years and was recently reminded why when I heard his classic, “When The Good Times Come Again.” It may have been written and recorded in a while ago, but it is so befitting and uplifting for the times we’re living in today!
I wanted to remind you all of his great music, and especially “When The Good Times Come Again”, because they will my friends, they will!

Sia | “Together”
Super smart, super talented, Sia, has been on the scene for some time, and I’m delighted that a movie (based on a short story she wrote in 2007 ) has been made into a major motion picture, “Music” which Sia also directs, stars Kate Hudsen, Leslie Odom Jr., and Maddie Ziegler.
Sia penned 10 original songs for the soundtrack; “Together” is one of them and is all about finding your individual voice and your power, and how the embrace of love and family can elevate them even higher.

Chrissy Metz | “Talking To God”
I fell in love with Chrissy Metz’s acting abilities on the hit drama, “This Is Us”, then she wowed me with her performance in the inspiring movie, “Breakthrough”. I had the pleasure of talking with her on an episode of my podcast last year, and realized that acting abilities aside, she is a phenomenal human being… And while I knew she could sing, honestly, I had no idea just how well she could sing!
Recently Chrissy was signed by International Music Group Nashville, and has just recently released the single, “Talking to God” now climbing the Country charts. Full of heart, full of soul, and with just a little country lilt, “Talking to God” is one of those tunes you find yourself singing along to, window down, elbow out, and troubles falling behind you as fast as the blacktop in the rearview.

Thomas Rhett | “Be A Light”
Rhett says he wrote, “Be A Light” over a year ago, as a counter to the negativity he felt in the world… and this was before a world-wide pandemic, a tornado that wreaked havoc on his home town of Nashville, TN, and the unrest our cities have seen since racial disparities have come to the forefront of the American conscious.
“Be A Light” reminds us all that WE can be the change the world needs! This timely anthem features Reba McEntire, Hillary Scott, Chris Tomlin and Keith Urban. Just image if we all turned away from hate, and let our individual lights of love shine forth, what a bright, hope-filled world it would be!
