Mercy Ships has been transforming lives for over 40 years. And now, they can do even more to help people who are suffering thanks to the launch of the Global Mercy® — the first custom built hospital ship of its kind.
So many people in the world have no access to healthcare and as a result they live in pain or fear of death while suffering from curable conditions. With the support of volunteers and donors, Mercy Ships goes to these communities to perform free surgeries that help mothers see their babies for the first time and little boys and girls run around with their friends. They change lives through the work they do.
The new Global Mercy will also have state-of-the-art teaching facilities so local healthcare professionals can get medical training — this will allow the work of healing to continue long after the ship leaves.
