New Movie

"The Unbreakable Boy" | New Movie

While the month of February is still dishing out dicey winter weather, it’s also dishing up some really fantastic movies we can duck into to escape the unpleasantness of outside!

“The Unbreakable Boy”, in theaters February 21, is one.

It’s my kind of movie, raw and real, but also positive and uplifting. It has “all the feels” as they say. It’s about a family dealing with the realities of a child who has both autism and a rare genetic disease called Osteogenesis Imperfecta (brittle bone disease), which causes frequent bone fractures.

It does such a beautiful job of illustrating the immense challenges and extreme joys that raising a child with special needs comes with.

“You’ve never met a kid like Austin. He’s not just one in a million… he’s one in four billion – the odds of being born with both a rare brittle-bone disease and autism. But what makes Austin truly unique is his joyous, funny, life-affirming worldview that transforms and unites everyone around him – especially his dad, Scott (Zachary Levi), who comes to see Austin not as the symbol of something broken, but the triumph of an indestructible spirit.

To meet Austin is to know that being “unbreakable” is not about physical strength, but the inner strength that comes from embracing love and grace, even in the most trying times. “

“The Unbreakable Boy” stars Zachary Levi and Meghann Fahy as Austin’s parents, Patricia Heaton as his grandmother, and Jacob Laval as the resilient, effervescent Austin LeRette.

"No Address" | New Movie

So many fantastic new movies hitting the big screen this winter! “No Address”, is in theaters February 28.

It’s a story that is only too real. As of spring 2024, there were just over 355,000 children in foster care in the United States, which is a decrease from the peak of 437,000 children in 2017 and 2018, but still entirely too many.

After years in foster care, Lauren graduates from high school, only to find her belongings in trash bags outside. With nowhere to go, she meets Jimmy, a kind-hearted runaway who introduces her to an unconventional family forged on the streets. Harris, a gifted painter, and battle-scarred veteran; Dora, a once-glimmering actress now battling her mind; and Violet, also a Veteran fighting her own wars with addiction. This family is constantly warding off a harassing gang, an unforgiving community, and local authorities. Robert, a once-successful businessman in the throes of financial ruin due to his gambling addiction, is desperate to take back the land the street family lives on for a prosperous development project.

Inspired by true events, No Address offers hope, humanity, and resilience as these characters navigate the stormy challenges of life with no physical address. Inspired by true events, this film is a testament to the enduring human spirit and the transformative power of community.

No Address vividly portrays that homelessness could happen to anyone…

Average Joe | New Movie

In between cookie baking, costume making, and dressing your home for fall, set aside some time to take in a movie with friends or family! “Which movie?” you ask?

AVERAGE JOE has my recommendation!

Based on the unwavering true story, high school football coach Joe Kennedy had no other choice but to fight.

A childhood in foster care followed by 20 years in the Marine Corps was nothing compared to his biggest battle: his commitment to stand for God publicly by taking a knee in prayer after each game.

When he was fired, Joe and his wife Denise knew this battle for religious freedom, freedom of speech, and the rights of all Americans was one they would have to fight—no matter the cost.

From the director and producers of God’s Not Dead and the producers of The Blind comes AVERAGE JOE, in theaters beginning October 11.

It’s my absolute pleasure to recommend movie selections I know you’ll come away from feeling empowered and inspired. Average Joe is that type of movie!

Grab some family, grab some friends, grab some popcorn, and this October, take in Average Joe!

New Movie | Unsung Hero

I’ve been a big big fan of for KING + COUNTRY, the Christian pop duo made up of brothers, Luke and Joel Smallbone, for a long long while.

They had my attention and admiration even before their huge hit “God Only Knows”, and even before I knew they were the brothers of Rebecca St. James, whose music I also adore! So of course I was excited to hear of the movie, Unsung Hero, (the title comes from a for KING + COUNTRY song of the same name), in theaters April 26th.

Based on a remarkable true story, Unsung Hero follows the father, David Smallbone, as he moves his family from Down Under to the States, searching for a brighter future after his successful music company collapses.

With nothing more than their seven children, suitcases, and their love of music, David (portrayed by his son, for KING + COUNTRY’s Joel Smallbone) and his pregnant wife Helen (Daisy Betts) set out to rebuild their lives.

Helen’s faith stands against all odds and inspires her husband and children to hold onto theirs. With their own dreams on hold, David and Helen begin to realize the musical prowess in their children, who would go on to become two of the most successful acts in Inspirational Music history: five-time GRAMMY Award®-winning artists for KING + COUNTRY and Rebecca St. James.

One of the perks of my position is often getting to see sneak-peaks at as-of-yet unreleased movies, and this one did not disappoint! The Smallbone family is one-of-a-kind! Their faith, fortitude, and fierce love for one another is evident. Their talent undeniable. It’s a moving, inspirational film that you’ll want to take the whole family to when it hits theaters later this month!

The accompanying Unsung Hero: Inspired By soundtrack is also phenomenal! The 11-track collection showcases original music and reimagined versions of iconic Christian pop hits, and includes a wealth of A-list collaborators such as Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Rebecca St. James, Lee Brice, Hillary Scott, andmore. It is also available on April 26.

Pre-Order Here:
Unsung Hero: Inspired By

Spring is a time for new beginnings, and no one showcases the faith it sometimes takes to begin anew, than the Smallbone family in Unsung Hero. I hope you get an opportunity to see it, be blessed by its message, and entertained by one amazing family (and the fabulous performances by those portraying them!)

Extraordinary New Movie | "Ordinary Angels"

Tickets are on sale NOW for “Ordinary Angels”, starring Hilary Swank & Alan Ritchson.

I got a sneak peek at this film and was overwhelmed with emotion. I can’t imagine the weight of the father’s sorrow after losing his wife, compounded by the worry over his daughter’s failing health, and feeling like whatever he did, it just wasn’t enough… But that’s not where the story ends.

Inspired by true events, Ordinary Angels is set in 1994 Louisville, Kentucky where a struggling hairdresser, Sharon (played by Hilary Swank), finds a renewed sense of purpose when she meets a recently widowed father, Ed (played by Alan Ritchson of Reacher ), working hard to care for his two daughters.

With his youngest critically ill and waiting for a liver transplant, the fierce woman single-handedly rallies an entire community to help his cause.

What happened in Ordinary Angels could happen in any town, and it does, because angels are all around us. In the most ordinary of people, extra ordinary courage, creativity, and care can be found.

Find your purpose. Make a difference.

Tickets for “Ordinary Angels” are on sale now!

tickets.ordinaryangels.movie

As luck would have it, I got to interview Alan Ritchson, who plays Ed Schmitt in the film! You probably know him from his Prime series, Reacher, but you won’t confuse the two characters in this movie.

He portrays a bereaved husband, and father sick with worry, brilliantly. The LOVE SOMEONE with Delilah podcast episode with Alan will drop on February13, make sure you give it a listen!

New Christmas Movie | "Journey To Bethlehem"

A young woman carrying an unimaginable responsibility. A young man torn between love and honor. A jealous king who will stop at nothing to keep his crown…

“Journey To Bethlehem” is a live-action Christmas musical adventure for the entire family that weaves classic Christmas melodies with humor, faith, and new pop songs in a retelling of the greatest story ever told—the story of Mary and Joseph and the birth of Jesus.

Screenplay by: Adam Anders & Peter Barsocchini

I got a sneak-peak and was thrilled with it! It's the first musical recounting Mary and Joseph's journey and our entire family was absolutely mesmerized from start to finish. It has some really incredible talent; Fiona Palomo, Milo Manheim, Joel Smallbone (from one of our favorite musical groups, for King & Country!), singer/rapper, Lecrae, AND... Academy-Award Nominee, Antonio Banderas portraying the jealous ruler we love to hate, King Herod.

This movie was directed by Adam Anders, and written by Adam and Nikki Anders. Adam is a four-time Grammy nominee and two-time People’s Choice Award winner. For many years, he served as the executive music producer of “Glee”, and you'll see his writing and directing credits extend to an impressive variety of television, movie and music projects.

Award-winning recording artist and songwriter, Nikki, has written, performed, or produced for many major motion pictures and television shows, including the Golden Globe-winning hit TV series “Glee.” This talented and passionate husband and wife powerhouse joined me on a recent podcast episode that you can listen to HERE.

You will absolutely LOVE this unique new entry into the collection of holiday classic movies, this epic Christmas musical is unlike any before it.

New Movie | The Mulligan

News Flash: THE MULLIGAN, a wonderful new family movie, is in theaters for only two nights: Monday, April 18 and Tuesday, April 19!

This inspirational movie is based on the book of the same name written by legendary leadership expert Ken Blanchard and former professional golfer Wally Armstrong. Both Ken and Wally have cameos in the movie.

THE MULLIGAN stars Eric Close (“Nashville”), Pat Boone, and Tanya Christensen (“I Still Believe”), with legendary PGA golfer Tom Lehman and hall-of-fame broadcaster Jim Nantz playing themselves.

An intensely driven businessman and golf fanatic, Paul McAlister is a success in everything—except what really matters. Like an errant tee shot, Paul’s life could use a do-over … a “mulligan.” With the help of an old golf pro, Paul hopes things will soon improve. But Paul soon discovers the Old Pro is more focused on his priorities and purpose than his pitching and putting. Whether it’s a replayed shot during a friendly round of golf, rediscovering lost priorities, or making something good of a situation gone bad, there are times we all could use a mulligan in life.

THE MULLIGAN is a beautiful reminder of the importance of second chances in our lives—mulligans.

Spring is the season of new beginnings - of second chances - it’s mulligan season! Take the kids, take the parents, take yourself, and go spend an evening being entertained, feeling good, and remembering what’s important!

New Movie | "Redeeming Love"

REDEEMING LOVE

I’ve long been a fan of author Francine Rivers. Her books are always meticulously researched, steeped in rich historical detail, and filled with complex, fascinating characters. Her stories are as layered and nuanced as life itself. It’s been a while now, but I have featured a few of them as my monthly Book Club choices.

One of her most beloved novels, REDEEMING LOVE, has recently been made into a major motion picture, and I hope you’ll all be going to see it when it’s released by Pinnacle Peak Pictures later this month.

REDEEMING LOVE is a skillful retelling of the biblical love story of Gomer and Hosea in a setting that America has long romanticized, the Old West. It’s been called “a powerful story of relentless love and perseverance as a young couple’s relationship clashes with the harsh realities of the California Gold Rush of 1850” . It stars Abigail Cowen, Tom Lewis and Logan Marshall-Green.

Coming to theaters January 21, 2022, REDEEMING LOVE shows there is no brokenness that love can’t heal.

New Movie | "Christmas with The Chosen - The Messengers"

A little over a year ago I discovered “The Chosen”, the first-ever multi-season television series about the life of Christ. A FREE television show, watched all over the world by tens of millions of people.

I was so enthralled, transfixed, mesmerized, by this story of “A charismatic fisherman drowning in debt. A troubled woman wrestling with real demons. A gifted publican…” that I reached out to writer/producer/director Dallas Jenkins and begged him to spend a little time with me on my podcast series, “LOVE SOMEONE with Delilah”. And he did! We had an amazing conversation, raising him to yet greater heights in my esteem (if that was even possible!)

Now Dallas and The Chosen team are bringing us a remarkable Christmas gift, a big-screen episode entitled, Christmas with The Chosen - The Messengers.

In theaters beginning December 1 (in most by December 10), reserve your tickets and experience the birth of Jesus Christ through the eyes of Mary and Joseph. What a wonderful way to launch the Christmas season, immersing yourself in the actual reason FOR the season!

This is the perfect opportunity to bring friends and family, including those who haven’t seen The Chosen, for a unique Christmas experience.
